This War of Mine: The Board Game is a powerful tabletop adaptation of the award-winning video game, placing you in the role of civilians struggling to survive in a besieged, war-torn city. Played cooperatively (or solo), the game focuses on harsh moral choices, human relationships, and the emotional weight of survival. Each session unfolds as a deeply narrative experience driven by hundreds of branching events, where every decision (who to help, what to sacrifice, and how far you’re willing to go) can have lasting consequences. With its intuitive “instant play” design, you can begin the experience without reading a rulebook, letting the story pull you in immediately.

By day, you’ll manage a ruined shelter: clearing rubble, building beds and tools, growing food, reinforcing security, and preparing for the brutal realities of winter. By night, you’ll face even greater dangers, sending survivors to scavenge across a hostile city while others guard your fragile refuge from raiders. Encounters with desperate civilians, soldiers, traders, and bandits are guided by the game’s unique SCRIPTS system, ensuring every playthrough tells a different story. Your ultimate goal is to survive until the war ends; but survival alone isn’t enough. The Epilogues system forces you to confront the true cost of your choices, asking not just whether you survived, but how you’ll live with what you did to get there.
